Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. As a child she attended her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma always had the desire to be a professional actress since she was at the age of six. She was enrolled at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy which offers classes for part-time students. From the age of 10 she was involved and played the leading role in a number of Stagecoach School plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 film adaptation from J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book began in 1999. Emma was identified by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after 8 auditions, that she had been picked for these characters. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first film appearance was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It also was the film that was most popular during 2001. The opening weekday and weekend sales were record-breaking. Critics gave high praise to the film, particularly the young performers. The highly distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma's performance was nominated and was awarded five awards for the movie.
